Book Club - The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins

Once again, we have two options for this assignment.

I know you had given your names for the book club this week, however, this is a pretty tough read, and I guess it's not every one's cup of tea. So even those who have given your names, if you don't want to read this book, you don't have to.

The other option is a blog discussion which will start on Sunday and go on till Wednesday.

Creative Writing Assignment 3

This is the shortest assignment you're ever going to get. Ever. It's also one of the toughest.

I'd like to introduce you to the concept of six word stories. That's right, an entire story told in six words.

Back in the 1920s, a colleague of Ernest Hemingway bet him that he couldn't write a story in six words. What a way to win a bet; not only did Hemingway write a six word story, it also went down as one of his best works! What did he write?

For Sale: baby shoes, never used.

For this week's creative writing assignment once again you are being given two options. You can either read the book 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' by Douglas Adams or you can write a six word story.

I must warn you, writing six word stories are tough, and if you want to do well on this assignment make sure you've written something absolutely fantastic. Or read the book.

Click here for some inspiration. Don't plagiarize, I will kill you. Any questions?

Click here to get the pdf.

We'll talk about it next Thursday - 7th July. The other option will be given in the next blog post. Good luck.

P.S. Very well done with Ishmael!
